Data Warehouse and Reporting Developer

We are currently seeking an experienced experienced Data Warehouse & Reporting Developer to support a prestigious European Institution in Brussels. 🔍🇪🇺

🖥️ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, build and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports using best practices in data visualisation and user experience.
• Develop scalable data pipelines and queries to extract, transform and model data from Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Synapse Analytics, and Oracle.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to define data requirements, model business logic, and ensure validated and high-quality data is reflected in BI products.
• Implement and manage Row-Level Security (RLS), workspace permissions, and data governance standards in line with Commission requirements for sensitive but non-classified (SNC) data.
• Optimise Power BI datasets and reports, including performance tuning, refresh strategies, troubleshooting and monitoring of data integrity.
• Produce clear and comprehensive technical documentation on data flows, architecture, models, lineage, and security configuration.
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders within a multicultural environment.

📝 REQUIREMENTS:

• University degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or similar (EQF 6 minimum)
• C1/C2 level of English (French B2 preferred)
• Excellent knowledge of Power BI (DAX, Power Query/M, data modelling, Row-Level Security)
• Excellent knowledge of Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Power BI integration
• Excellent knowledge of advanced SQL (complex queries, performance tuning, data pipeline optimisation)
• Excellent knowledge of data modelling, semantic layer design, and data governance best practices
• Good knowledge of version control practices
• Good knowledge of the Azure ecosystem and cloud-based analytics environments
• Knowledge of Oracle databases and enterprise data warehousing environments
• Knowledge of data documentation practices (data lineage, architecture diagrams, security configurations)
• Strong understanding of data visualisation principles and BI performance optimisation

This is a hybrid role, with occasional onsite meetings requiring on-site presence at the Brussels office . 📍
